Kannur Medical College witnessed another program, when the B.C. Roy auditorium was the venue for the Continuing Medical Education program held on 25th of October, 2009 jointly by Kannur Medical College and Indian Medical Association, Kannur branch.

A large number of doctors from the entire North Malabar had attended the function and many of the eminent doctors presented informative seminars on various topics.

The highlight of the program was the inauguration of the CARDIOTHORACIC SURGERY DEPARTMENT of KMC by the vice-president of IMA, Kannur, Dr. Shanta Rajendran. The inauguration was conducted by switching on the video presentation of the CARDIOTHORACIC DEPT, created by the iT Club of Kannur Medical College. The video gave a brief insight about the department, the facilities and the staff behind the department. The department is headed by the chief cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Anand Kumar MBBS, MS, M.Ch.

All in all, the day was a milestone in the history of Kannur Medical College.
