KWANZA - I am, because we are...!
 A time when the KMC brotherhood comes to party  
 

Long awaited KWANZA, the cultural fest of Kannur Medical College was on 11th of May 2009. The youth of KMC came back into action with the remarkable KWANZA ’09. It was indeed a spectacular evening which was inaugurated by none other than the cine youth icon and singing sensation Vineeth Sreenivasan. The distinguished guests present were the Chairman of KMC, the Dean along with many of the faculty members. The programme continued with a truly melodious prayer song and then had a kick start with an absolutely stunning performance by the chief guest Vineeth Sreenivasan .  

 

This was followed by prize distribution session where the rank holders of 1st MBBS exam 2008 were awarded for their hard work. The KMC winners of intermedicos - Konzerio ’08 (All Kerala Self-financing medical colleges arts & sports fest) and the winners of the inter college Cinnamon Cup sports competitions were also rewarded. The cultural programs started off with a welcome dance by the 2k7 batch.

The evening was infact a showcase of a myriad talents at KMC. There were dazzling performances throughout the evening with a wide variety of programs including a Mexican Dance, Western Classical Fusion, a duo performance, North Indian dance, a monoact, a mime and lots more. An inspiring program of the evening was a heart warming group song ‘Eeshwar Yah Allah’ where they paid homage to the victims of war and also the Mumbai blasts.

Another highlight of the show was a wonderful video presentation "KMC IN THE MAKING" by the  iT CLUB which gained profound acknowledgement. The presentation depicted the hard work behind making Kannur Medical College the way we see today.

To add to the enthusiasm were extraordinarily melodious solo performances by Shahnaz, Shabnam Abu, Parvati and Narayanan and also a duet by Anu Joseph and Lini which truly pampered the ear. The event was infact a brilliant portrayal of vigor, spirit and style by the students at KMC. It was not only the students who contributed to the excitement as there were splendid shows by the faculty as well; Dr. Asokan and Dr. Sagar Borker contributed to the excitment of the night.

And to add to the tempo of their extravaganza were incredible skits by both the 2k7 and 2k8 batches, which  made the audience fall of their seats.

The entire programme was supported by live video projections & titling graphic effects on two large display screens. There were real time video songs dedications as well. It was indeed a marvelous evening which was a treat to the eyes as well as the ears in all true sense. And as everything that has a beginning has an end, KWANZA ’09 came to an end with an astonishing  performance by none other than the 2k6 boys which was the perfect icing on the cake!
