About the website
The first MBBS batch of this instituition was admitted in the year 2006. Since then the batch had many activities. Formation of the Students Union and several clubs under them was held in the class room by the class representatives in the presence of the Dean. Since there was only one batch, there was no scope for election. The mode of selection of different posts were by suggestion and declaring.
The iT Club was the last club to be formed. The club secretary and members were selected from then and there itself. Days passed after the selection and election of our club, The iT CLUB. We had no predecessors to guide us, no one to instruct us how to co-ordinate and conduct events and programs.
In the iT club meeting, several ideas were put forward by different members to carry out as the first project. It was then, constructing a website for the student community of Kannur Medical College was thought of. At first our idea was to start a website for 'The first batch of Kannur Medical College', but later considering the viability of the site, it was decided to construct a site not for 'The first batch', but for the whole medical students!
Strong and mature proposals were put forth by our beloved friend, Mohd. Mansoor kalady. Mohd Mansoor was a stout personality who had contributed a lot to the starting of this site. Purchasing of the domain and a 'small' server was during our vacation after the first year MBBS examination in which Mohd. Mansoor played many roles. He had many determined and un-deviating ideas for the promotion and betterment of this website. What was his plan was to launch and inaugurate this site before the college re-opened; so that there will be lots of visits by friends who are still in home. In the midst of blooming of this site, unfortunately a motor bike accident drove the soul of our beloved friend into a world where no one could reach. His undue parting let us in a black time; and the first ever news we could broadcast through this site which he himself was a part of was his death news and some smiling lively photos of our lost friend.
Overcoming all ups and downs the website went forward with its construction and modifications. Within the limit of our technical knowledges we conducted many trials of the site. Many friends in the course of time played roles in testing and providing feedbacks of the site under trial. All the members of the club alike toiled to bring out the maximum; splitting of duties to different members made it easier for the construction.
Joining of successors of the first batch was in this span. iT Club was lucky to embrace many more talented members. The strength of the club increased many fold. The site made many updates with the help of the second batch.
Atlast on 13th March 2008, official inauguration of the website was conducted by our beloved Dean, Dr. Venugopalan in front of a wide audience including an array of faculty members in the function of union launching. The website which was under test run until then was declared launched by the Dean.
We got many feedback from many senior faculty members and management staff which added to our happiness.
This website you access today is as a result of evolution from an immature form which became what you see today by the hard work of many brains.
OUR AIM:
This website will become a part of all students and staff of the college.
This site wil serve many helpful resources to medical students all over the world.
Patient related resources will be part of the site.
